Qingdao port promotes the "Qingdao mode" of smart port construction to the world

from February 25 to 28 local time, the four-day 2019 world mobile communication conference (MWC) was held in Barcelona, Spain. As the first port in the world to actually apply 5g technology, Qingdao port automation terminal was invited to attend the "world's first 5g smart port press conference" to share the technology application and promote the experience of smart port construction
just over a month ago, Qingdao port successfully completed the automatic bridge crane control operation based on 5g connection on its automatic wharf, taking the lead in grabbing and transporting containers through wireless network control equipment, which is the world's first 5g remote bridge crane operation in the actual production environment. The test successfully realized the millisecond delay industrial control signal and the detection data of each experimental machine higher than 30 channels of HD camera video data on the 5g network to show everyone the mixed load, supporting the wireless control and video return of the automatic quayside crane in actual production, and the performance is stable. At the same time, the test also verified the application of 5g network in the smart port scenario and a number of key technologies, and comprehensively evaluated the feasibility of 5g network deployment in the smart terminal. This test confirmed that 5g connection can be used as an effective transmission scheme in the upgrading of traditional artificial wharf to automated unmanned wharf, which actually saves about 70% of labor costs
at present, because 4G wireless transmission cannot meet the stringent requirements of millisecond end-to-end delay, high stability and reliability of port equipment, optical fiber transmission communication is still used in terminals around the world. This kind of communication mode needs to design a special follow-up mechanism on the mobile equipment, which will cause the complex structure of the equipment and the high cost of manufacturing, operation and maintenance. 5g technology has the characteristics of low delay, high bandwidth and large capacity, which can provide a new solution for the communication problem of port automation equipment
"in the past, the equipment of the port used to drag an optical fiber wherever it went, just like 'flying a kite'. In this way, when the port is being transformed and upgraded, it needs to re bury the optical fiber, which takes time and effort, and will affect the normal operation of the port." Yang Jiemin, deputy general manager of Qingdao port automation terminal, said that the combination of 5g technology and port is not only of great significance to the smart port, but also of great benefit to the transformation of the terminal by pressing the start button jointly by Xie Yuan, deputy secretary of the traditional Jiaozuo Municipal Party committee and mayor, "If the communication mode of 5g technology is changed, whether it is a traditional port or a smart port, its equipment can get rid of the embarrassment of 'flying kites'. When the port is transformed and upgraded, there is no need to re bury optical fibers, and the transformation time will be greatly shortened."
it can be said that the combination of 5g technology and wharf has opened a new imagination space for future ports
"in the future, the overall development level of China's new material industry will still be far behind that of developed countries, and the work efficiency and accuracy will certainly be greatly improved. In addition, various equipment in the port can be controlled wirelessly through 5g network. Once there is a problem, technicians can solve it through remote control without going to the scene." Yang Jiemin said
it is reported that Qingdao port will further explore the application of 5g technology in smart terminals in the future, and speed up the transformation of traditional ports to automated and intelligent smart ports
